Coral Springs, FL, September 27, 2022 – Unity Garage Doors is proud to announce the recent completion of a project in Coral Springs, FL. The garage door repair was completed by our expert technicians and we are confident that it will serve its owners well for many years to come.

The client had been experiencing problems with his garage door for some time. It was loud when it opened and closed and the springs were showing signs of rusting. He called Unity Garage Doors to inspect his garage door and see what we could do to fix it. Our technicians found out that the springs needed to be replaced and that several bolts were missing from the tracks of the garage door which made it difficult for the car to move into or out of the driveway.

Garage Door Repair Process

Garage door repair is a job that requires you to have some basic knowledge about how your garage door works. The process of a typical garage repair begins with an inspection, followed by the removal of damaged parts and replacing them with new ones. After that, you can re-install the springs and make sure everything is working normally again. This type of job should be done by a professional, but if you are willing to do this yourself, you need to learn a few steps:

Remove the door.

The first step to repairing your garage door is removing it from the track. This can be done by removing two bolts on each side of the track, near each end where they meet with their respective hinges, and pulling up on the track until it comes off. Once it’s done, remove four bolts from each corner that hold your garage door to its frame (two per side). Next, remove two more bolts from inside your garage connecting the “head” of your door to its header; these may be difficult to see unless you know exactly where they are located. Finally, lift off your old door and set aside any pieces that might be left over.

Remove the springs.

With the garage door open, you will need to remove the springs. Again, doing this can be dangerous and should only be done by a professional. If you find yourself needing to remove your springs, it is better to call a professional rather than risk damaging your garage door further. If you are up for trying it on your own, some things need to be considered:

  • Use caution when removing the springs. They are very strong and could injure someone if they were allowed to suddenly spring free while being loosened. Be sure that all the doors have been closed before starting work on them and do not get under them once they have been disconnected from their supports or cables this includes making sure no one else is under them either.
  • Do not use anything sharp when working with metal parts as this could cause damage or injury due to flying debris.

Re-install the garage door.

Before you can install the springs, you must replace the garage door. Make sure you are using safe practices such as wearing a harness, etc. After replacing your door, put on your safety glasses and gloves before installing springs.

First, attach one end of each spring to its correct bracket on either side of the garage door. Then attach cords from each spring with hooks at both ends so that you can lift your new door. You may need help with this part because it’s too heavy for one person. Then check whether all bolts are fastened securely before proceeding, some doors require extra steps to avoid any mishaps during installation or use.

Benefits of a newly repaired garage door

It can be easy to neglect your garage door, especially if you have a busy schedule. The good news is that there are many benefits to regularly maintaining your garage door. Taking the time to care for and maintain your garage door can help you avoid serious issues. A well-maintained garage door will last longer, so you’ll be able to avoid costly repairs in the future.

A new garage door will be stronger and safer. A well-made garage door can last for decades, but an older one has a shorter lifespan. If your old garage door is sagging or rusting, it’s time to get a new one. Plus, a new garage door will be better looking.

Newer doors are available in more styles and colors. With options like wood paneling or faux stone cladding, you can have a custom look that matches the rest of your home without having to pay for something unique and extravagant.
